HITS led consortium secures funding from East of England Development Agency |
|
A HITS–led consortium has secured a grant of £375,000 from the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) and the European Social Fund Objective 3 Programme to support Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) training throughout the Eastern Region. This funding will support the training of at least 250 DPSI candidates throughout the Eastern Region from 2005 to 2007. Under the project banner “Opening Doors”, HITS will be working in partnership with colleague organisations in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, to offer DPSI training for suitably-skilled candidates within the Eastern Region (which also includes Essex and Bedfordshire). The project will be administered by Dacorum Council for Voluntary Service (DCVS), the managing organisation for HITS. As a result of this funding, HITS will be able to offer a Health DPSI course in both 2006 and 2007, in addition to our Local Government speciality. Training will be offered free of charge for any resident of the Eastern Region undertaking the DPSI with HITS. Supported by
