Herts Interpreting & Translation Service
Founded in 2001, Herts Interpreting & Translation Service (HITS) is one of the largest and most successful independent, non-commercial services in the UK. Managed by the registered charity Community Action Dacorum, HITS provides language support services (face-to-face, video and telephone interpreting, written translation, audio recordings, language assessments) for Health Trusts, Local Authorities, Criminal Justice Agencies, non-statutory sector organisations, commercial and private clients throughout the Home Counties, the East of England, Greater London and beyond.
A Professional and Ethical Provider
As a training and examination centre for the internationally renowned Chartered Institute of Linguists, HITS provide interpreters trained to the standard of the CIOL Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) – the accepted nationwide standard for public service interpreting.
This means that interpreters provided by HITS are fluent and literate in both target languages, conversant with the specialist terminology across a wide range of public services and committed to the proprieties of public service interpreting (e.g. confidentiality and impartiality).
We are able to provide interpreting and translation services in more than 140 languages.
As a not-for-profit organisation HITS is able to offer a highly professional, reliable, accessible and friendly service at an extremely competitive price.
