Working with Interpreters

Interpreting session

It introduces participants to the skills and qualities possessed by a professional public-service interpreter as well as the general principles of interpreting.

Through the use of tailor-made role-plays, in the company of trained interpreters, participants have an opportunity to acquire practical experience of managing an interpreting situation.

In addition, this course offers guidance on the practicalities of booking an interpreter, how to commission a written translation, and how to develop language support services as part of an effective overall communications strategy.

This workshop can be offered in one-hour, three-hour or full-day (six-hour) formats and can be designed to accommodate the specific area of work undertaken by the commissioning organisation.(whether public sector, voluntary sector or commercial sector).
